Job Summary
Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Model positive behavior and healthy life skills by supporting homework routines, coordinating daily schedules including meals and bedtimes, and participating in family-style mealtimes. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster responsibility, resilience, and respect. Collaborate with teachers and counselors to identify and support academic, social, and emotional needs, while documenting observations and incidents. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and school protocols to ensure safety. Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with a residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
