Job Summary
Provide daily care, guidance, and structure to students in a residential home environment, modeling positive behavior and healthy life skills. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes while actively building trusting relationships and offering mentorship. Supervise students during home and on- and off-campus activities, maintain a structured environment, and document relevant observations or incidents. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene and organization, and encourage involvement in extracurricular and community service opportunities. Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support each student's academic, social, and emotional needs. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with a residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
