Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Model positive behavior, support daily routines including meals, chores, and homework, and build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management. Document student observations, reinforce school policies, and participate in family-style mealtimes to foster life skills like hygiene, organization, and time management. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and collaborate with teachers and counselors to address academic and emotional needs. Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure safety and well-being.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
