Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Live and work within a residential student home environment, providing daily care, guidance, and structure to a diverse group of school-age children and adolescents. Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules, including family-style mealtimes, chores, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene and organization. Actively build trusting relationships and use positive behavior management techniques to help students develop responsibility and resilience. Respond calmly in crisis situations, use de-escalation strategies, and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support each student's academic, social, and emotional needs. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity

- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
