Job Summary
Conduct daily care and structure for a diverse group of school-age children and adolescents within a residential home environment. Model positive behavior, support students with homework and school routines, and coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management while collaborating with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic, social, and emotional needs. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities, maintain a structured environment, and document relevant observations. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Participate in family-style mealtimes and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene and time management. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with a residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
