Job Summary
Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and actively build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management. Support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management, and collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic and emotional needs. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Participate in family-style mealtimes and encourage involvement in extracurricular and community service opportunities. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
