Job Summary
Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Provide daily care, guidance, and structure by coordinating meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning including personal hygiene and organization. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster responsibility and resilience, while collaborating with teachers and counselors to address academic and emotional needs. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Document relevant student observations or incidents and participate in family-style mealtimes and enrichment opportunities. Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with a residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
