Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Support daily routines including meals, chores, homework, and bedtimes, and actively build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management. Collaborate with teachers and counselors to address academic, social, and emotional needs, and document relevant student observations or incidents. Respond calmly to crisis or conflict situations using de-escalation strategies and school protocols to ensure safety. Participate in family-style mealtimes and life-skills learning, encouraging involvement in extracurriculars and community service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
