Job Summary
Provide daily care, guidance, and structure to students in a residential home environment, including coordinating meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes. Model positive behavior, support homework routines, and build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment that reinforces school policies. Document student observations, participate in family-style mealtimes, and support life-skills learning such as hygiene, organization, and time management. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
