Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Support daily routines including meals, homework, chores, and bedtimes, and model positive behavior to foster academic progress and social-emotional growth. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management, collaborating with teachers and counselors to address individual needs. Document student observations and incidents, participate in family-style mealtimes, and teach life skills such as hygiene and time management. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, applying cultural sensitivity to support diverse students with varied backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
