Job Summary
Live and work within a residential student home environment, providing daily care, guidance, and structure to a diverse group of school-age children and adolescents. Model positive behavior, support students with homework and school routines, and coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes. Actively build trusting relationships, offer mentorship, and use positive behavior management techniques to help students develop responsibility and resilience. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities, maintain a structured environment, and document relevant student observations or incidents. Respond calmly to crisis or conflict situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support each student's academic, social, and emotional needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
