Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in the residential home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Model positive behavior, support homework routines, and coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, and bedtimes. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster responsibility and resilience. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic, social, and emotional needs. Participate in family-style mealtimes, teach life skills like personal hygiene and time management, and guide involvement in extracurriculars and community service. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
