Job Summary
Provide daily care, guidance, and structure to students in a residential home environment, modeling positive behavior and healthy life skills. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes while actively building trusting relationships and offering mentorship. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities, reinforce school policies, and document relevant observations. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and collaborate with teachers and administrators to support academic and social-emotional needs. Participate in family-style mealtimes and life-skills learning, encouraging involvement in extracurricular and community service opportunities. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
