Job Summary
Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules, including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management. Actively build trusting relationships, model positive behavior, and use de-escalation strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support academic, social, and emotional needs. Document relevant student observations or incidents and encourage involvement in extracurricular and community service opportunities. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with a residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility and ability to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
