Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Live and work within residential student homes to provide daily care, guidance, and structure for pre-K through 12th-grade children and adolescents. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities while modeling positive behavior, supporting homework routines, and coordinating meals, chores, and bedtimes. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster responsibility, resilience, and respect. Collaborate with teachers and counselors to identify and support academic, social, and emotional needs, and document relevant student observations or incidents. Maintain a structured environment by reinforcing school policies and using de-escalation strategies during crisis or conflict situations. Participate in family-style mealtimes and life-skills learning, including personal hygiene and time management, while encouraging extracurricular and community service involvement. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
