Job Summary
Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules, including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene and organization. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management, collaborating with teachers and counselors to address academic and emotional needs. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Document relevant student observations and reinforce school policies and expectations. Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
