Job Summary
Provide daily care, guidance, and structure to students in a residential home environment by modeling positive behavior, supporting homework routines, and coordinating meals, chores, and activities. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management while collaborating with teachers and counselors to address academic and emotional needs. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities, maintain a predictable schedule, and document observations. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols. Participate in family-style mealtimes and life-skills learning, including personal hygiene and time management, while encouraging involvement in extracurriculars. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with a residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
