Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Conduct daily care, guidance, and structure for students in a residential home environment, modeling positive behavior and supporting homework routines. Coordinate schedules for meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes while building trusting relationships and using positive behavior management techniques. Supervise students during home and off-campus activities, maintain a structured environment, and document observations or incidents. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support academic and social-emotional needs. Participate in family-style mealtimes and life-skills learning, including personal hygiene and time management. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity

- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
