Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, and bedtimes; support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management, collaborating with teachers and counselors to address academic and social-emotional needs. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Participate in family-style mealtimes and encourage involvement in extracurriculars and community service. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
