Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, and bedtimes, and actively build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management. Support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene and organization, and collaborate with teachers and counselors to address academic and emotional needs. Respond calmly to crises using de-escalation strategies and document relevant observations. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
