Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in the residential home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster academic progress, social-emotional growth, and character development. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support student needs, and document relevant observations or incidents. Respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Participate in family-style mealtimes and encourage involvement in extracurricular, community service, and enrichment opportunities. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
