Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in the home and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules, including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management. Actively build trusting relationships, offer mentorship, and use positive behavior management techniques to help students develop responsibility, resilience, and respect. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support academic, social, and emotional needs, and respond calmly to crisis situations using de-escalation strategies and school protocols. Document relevant student observations or incidents and reinforce school policies and expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
