Job Summary
Conduct 24-hour residential care for youth, monitoring their whereabouts, health, and safety while assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily living skills. Facilitate treatment-oriented activity groups, administer medications per physician orders, and document critical incidents, progress notes, and monthly care summaries. Coordinate case management with guardians, educators, and providers, maintain client records in binders and the EHR, and participate in seclusion, restraint, and evacuation drills as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in a social services field
- Three years of experience in psychology, counseling, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- MHACBO QMHA certification at time of hire
- Ability to obtain MHACBO QMHA certification within 30 days of employment
- Morrow County Substitute Credential
- Functional knowledge of business English and medical terminology
- Good spelling and basic mathematical skills
- Ability to learn assigned tasks readily and to adhere to general office procedures
- Good organizational and time management skills
- In-depth knowledge of standard office equipment
- Basic knowledge of using Microsoft Office
- Basic computer skills to navigate and enter data into EMR
- Ability to represent the interest of the customer and the agency in a favorable light in the community
- Ability to work well with teams and other groups of individuals
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats
- Ability to present and exchange information internally across teams and co-workers, and externally with customers and the public
- Valid driver's license
- Personal auto insurance for privately owned vehicles utilized for business
- Proof of $300,000 or more liability coverage for bodily injury
- Proof of $100,000 or more in property damage coverage
- Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull on an ongoing basis
- Ability to lift and transfer clients using a two-person lifting technique
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, evening or overnight awake shifts
- Willingness to work a flexible work schedule
- Ability to cope with stress associated with work involving a high degree of mental, emotional and physical demands
- Ability to deal with clients experiencing crisis situations
- Ability to interact and relate to youth, staff, managers and others with respect and dignity
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to comprehend laws, administrative rules and regulations and agency policies
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors and other professionals
- Ability to handle highly confidential information
- Must adhere to rules and laws pertaining to client confidentiality
- Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule; depending on community and resident needs
Desired Qualifications
- Preference MHACBO QMHA certification at time of hire
