Job Summary
Interpret policies and procedures for residents, supervise their movement and activity, and monitor compliance with rules. Implement structured activities to promote social and independent living skills, while assisting in planning these programs. Document daily shift activities, observations, and incident reports to support individual treatment plans and review processes. Assist residents with health and hygiene needs, manage client files, and conduct head counts throughout the day and night. Oversee visitations, transport residents to outside activities using a 15-passenger van, and arrange weekend bus transportation for discharges. Complete intake and discharge procedures, maintain facility cleanliness, and report safety or sanitation concerns.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Agency Affiliated Counselor (WAC 246-810-015, and RCW 18.19.210) within 60-days from the date of hire
- First Aid/CPR certification before first independent shift
- High level of written/verbal communication
- Efficiency with independent task management
- Ability to show attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Outlook proficiency
- Internet navigation proficiency
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van
- Must be able to arrange weekend bus transportation
- Must be able to drop off and pick up clients sent to hospital after regular business hours
- Must be available for evening and weekend shifts
- Must be available for Sunday visitation
- Must be able to conduct client head counts throughout the day and night
- Must be able to interpret and explain program and/or unit policy and procedure to each resident
- Must be able to perform and document daily shift activities
- Must be able to supervise and monitor resident movement, activity and rule compliance
- Must be able to assess and respond appropriately to resident behaviors, attitudes and dispositions
- Must be able to provide written documentation of observations
- Must be able to assist residents in meeting health and hygiene needs
- Must be able to provide guidance thru the GGI process
- Must be able to audit/filing client files
- Must be able to check for errors in client files
- Must be able to clean stations, floors, mail rooms and foyer
- Must be able to fill clothing requests for clients
- Must be able to observe clients during visitation
- Must be able to assess, evaluate and report internal and external facility conditions
- Must be able to observe clients for any behavior or demeanor that is not the norm
- Must be able to maintain the appearance of the living space for residents
- Must be able to request maintenance and household supplies
- Must be able to complete intake and discharge procedures
- Must be able to conduct program orientations for newly arrived residents
- Must be able to prepare informational, infraction and incident reports
- Must be able to oversee resident family and sponsor visitations
- Must be able to transport residents to outside activities
- Must be able to attend and participate in department staff meetings
- Must be able to meet with other program staff, consultants, volunteers
- Must be able to obtain pre-employment drug testing
- Must be able to undergo drug testing during employment
- Must be able to undergo testing for marijuana
