Job Summary
Residential Tenancy Officer 2 to deliver Residential Tenancy and Condominium Dispute services on behalf of Service Nova Scotia; work with a team of professionals to adjudicate, mediate, and resolve disputes, applying procedural fairness and legal terminology; requires ability to distill complex information into concise findings of fact, strong interviewing and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Adobe, plus familiarity with case management software and related acts/policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in adjudication, mediation, or decision making within administrative law

- Extensive knowledge of procedural fairness, rules of natural justice and legal terminology
- Research techniques, financial analysis and decision/report writing in mediation/adjudication/dispute resolution
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Well-developed interviewing skills
- Ability to create, store and manage electronic files using Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Adobe
- Working knowledge of assessing evidence and applying proper weight to evidence
- Knowledge of policies, processes and governing Acts and Regulations for Residential Tenancies and Condominium Dispute programs
- Proficiency with case management software
- Equivalency considered for education/experience
