Job Summary

Supervise residents in all daily aspects of the residential program, providing personal care including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Coordinate daily schedules, prepare meals, grocery shop, and clean up after meal preparation. Transport individuals to medical appointments, recreational activities, and shopping trips. Maintain complete program records, complete reports, and assist in administering and documenting medications. Ensure the home and equipment remain clean, sanitary, and in good working condition. Assist with training new employees, act as a liaison with case managers, and serve as a role model. Deal with verbally and physically aggressive individuals while complying with human rights regulations. Travel to another agency location as directed. Work up to 29 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma with proof of knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to understand the special training needs of intellectually disabled individuals
  • Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, Medication Administration
  • Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, Medication Repackaging
  • Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, Medicaid Waiver training
  • Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, CPR
  • Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, First Aid
  • Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, behavioral intervention training
  • Ability to lift forty (40) pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work with and assist individuals with physical aggression and behavior issues
  • Current valid drivers license
  • Good driving record
  • Willingness and ability to travel and use personal transportation in a work capacity
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good computer skills in order to access emails, training, and record keeping/data collection software
  • Ability to organize own work and be self-directed
  • Basic knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to perform general household upkeep and maintenance
