Residential Technician-Medication Aide

Job Summary

Overwatch residents and ensure facility safety while adhering to agency policies and procedures. Assist nursing and clinical staff with medication administration, obtain client information, and supervise educational activities. Perform housekeeping duties, prepare meals as assigned, and provide security services, particularly on late shifts. Intervene in crisis situations using nonviolent techniques and respond to medical emergencies utilizing CPR and first aid. Report any legal incidents or arrests to a supervisor within 24 hours. Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations. Work full-time day or night shifts with rotating weekends, lifting 25 lbs, and possess a valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to dependably work, with weekend availability
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs
  • All training required by VA DBHDS licensing to work in a residential behavioral health setting
  • Background check must show eligibility to work in a direct care setting in Virginia
  • Drug Screening is required
  • Valid Driver's License/good driving status

Desired Qualifications

  • CNA preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • CNA and/or Medication Administration certification preferred
