Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate activities of Direct Support employees while managing operations, staffing, and the budget for assigned facilities. Interview and hire Direct Support Professionals, prepare employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage, and perform personal care duties including hygiene tasks, meal preparation, and goal implementation. Spend time monitoring interactions and relationships with people supported across all three shifts, resolving employee issues, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring staff meet training requirements. Maintain a clean and maintained home and yard for individuals supported. Provide after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- Must be qualified as a Habilitation Technician II (med certified) or eligible to be so designated at the first available training after accepting the position
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally pull at least 40 lbs.
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be able to provide on-call coverage as needed
- Must be able to talk and hear (Exception: For Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs only, employees must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL))
- Must be able to provide transportation for individuals (if required for providing transportation)
- Must have a driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle (if required for providing transportation)
- Must pass pre-employment screening including criminal background check
- Must pass drug testing
- Must provide proof of employment history or references (if required)
- Must provide proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle (if required for providing transportation)
Desired Qualifications
- CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus
