Job Summary
Provide emotional and practical overnight support to young people with physical and learning disabilities, maintaining a calm, secure environment while managing behaviours and responding to incidents. Prepare the home for the day ahead by ensuring safety and organisation during quieter periods, then support evening and morning routines to promote independence and wellbeing. Collaborate with professionals to follow individual care plans, assess needs, review progress, and manage risk, while keeping clear, accurate records of each shift. Work from 9:30pm to 7:30am as part of a new residential team building a culture of safety and inclusion for up to four children.
Required Qualifications
- Resilience
- Positive approach to change and challenge
- 'Can do' attitude
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent)
- Experience of working in a care setting
- Ability to develop positive relationships through trust
- Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families
- Solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting
- Flexibility to work different shift patterns
- Emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role
Desired Qualifications
- Possibility to complete Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years of commencing employment
