Job Summary
Residential Support Specialist / Counselor provides direct supervision, care, and support for at-risk adolescent males (ages 13–18) in a residential setting. Responsibilities include supervising youth overnight and during shifts, teaching and counseling, responding to crises with positive interventions and therapeutic skills, administering medications per directions, tracking behaviors, maintaining licensed-standard residential environments, and participating in physical interventions when necessary using Pro-ACT procedures. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), 1 year experience with youth in residential/community/school settings (preferred), valid driver’s license, strong communication, de-escalation, reliability, and basic computer skills. Evening and weekend availability are required; shifts listed include various afternoon/evening/weekend times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year working with youth in a residential, community, or school-based program preferred
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage positively with youth, de-escalate challenging behaviors, and apply sound judgment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Basic computer skills to access emails and learn company tracking systems
