Job Summary
Conduct safety rounds every half-hour, perform random room checks, and administer medications as appropriate. Facilitate resident medical appointments, schedule communications, and transport individuals to outside services. Actively lead recreational and leisure skill-building activities that introduce new hobbies and mentally stimulating tasks. Notify the Program Manager or Director immediately of unusual events, accidents, or medical problems, completing all required documentation. Serve as a positive role model to help residents develop socially effective values and behaviors.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in a Virginia Board of Counseling approved Human Service degree
- An Associate's Degree and at least three months experience working with children, young adults, or with individuals involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D with at least six months of experience working with children, young adults, or with individuals involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
