Job Summary
Conduct safety rounds every half-hour and perform random room checks to ensure resident security. Facilitate medical and outside appointments by scheduling, communicating, and transporting residents. Administer medications as appropriate and actively facilitate recreational and leisure activities that build new skills. Notify the Program Manager of any unusual events, accidents, or medical problems and complete required documentation. Serve as a positive role model to help residents develop socially effective values and behaviors.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in a Virginia Board of Counseling approved Human Service degree
- An Associate's Degree and at least three months experience working with children, young adults, or with individuals involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D with at least six months of experience working with children, young adults, or with individuals involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
