Job Summary
Conduct regular scheduled rounds to ensure safety and residents' wellbeing, managing primary building coverage 24/7/365 while guaranteeing resident safety through independent judgment. Enter activity log information and shift notes accurately, complete admissions paperwork, and provide initial program orientation. Escort residents to external services such as clinics and income maintenance centers, while planning and leading social activities and resident support groups. Meet with case managers regularly, coordinate meals, and handle administrative tasks including office coverage, telephone, and clerical work. Follow emergency procedures and attend required trainings. Maintain professional maturity during crises, utilizing a trauma-informed, client-centered approach with empathy and honesty.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Human Services or High Diploma or GED
- 3+ years' social service experience
- F-02 certification
- Security license
- Ability to be flexible with schedule as needed
- Ability to maintain professional maturity during crisis
- Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of homelessness, substance misuse and harm reduction, working with the disenfranchised communities including whom identify LGBQT, HIV/AIDs affected, the elderly and individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities
- Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-cantered approach, using an anti -oppressive lens into your work with the people we serve
- Use neutral and non judgmental language when responding to the needs and requests of the residents
Desired Qualifications
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with computer-based programs, typing skills
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs
- F80
- Basic First Aid
- Naloxone certification
- Valid driver's license and bi-lingual communication
- Food Handler license
