Residential Specialist - Domestic Violence Programs

Job Summary

Respond to hotline interviews, conduct admissions, and provide initial orientation to new residents. Deliver warm welcomes, distribute supplies, and escort residents to external services like clinics and housing referrals. Perform room checks, maintain logs, and conduct security rounds while ensuring safety during facility coverage. Assist with recreational activities, childcare, and special on-site events, plus handle administrative support and light maintenance. Maintain progress notes, lead support groups, and meet with case managers to document assistance provided. Function independently during shifts, including crisis response and shift summaries, while participating in monthly training seminars.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree with internships in Human Services
  • Associate Degree with (2-4) years' experience in Human Services
  • High School Diploma or GED with (4-5) years' experience
  • experience in, or a potential for, delivering a variety of human services to adults and children, preferably in a residential setting
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities including individuals whom identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly and individuals with mental health issues
  • computer-literate
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Customer Service Skills
  • ability to be flexible with schedule as needed
  • knowledgeable and sensitive to DV issues
