Job Summary
Pinpoint paths of wires, pipes, and conduits carrying utilities underground, then locate and mark underground copper and fiber optic cable and conduit. Maintain and update customer location information in the USA ticket management system while communicating with contractors and property owners regarding property locates. Assist with new telecommunication and broadband service installations, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of telecommunication and broadband services. Perform inside wire and ONT installation and troubleshooting, and assist outside plant technicians and other departments as needed. Maintain a neat appearance and properly equipped vehicle while working in temperature extremes from +20 to +105 degrees Fahrenheit. Available to work overtime, varied shifts, and assume on-call duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid California driver's license and a favorable DMV record
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must comply with all company policies and safety procedures
- Basic computer keyboard and software skills (Excel, Word, and other applications)
- Telecommunications wiring color code competency
- Must be available to work overtime and assume on-call duties as required
- Must be able to climb ladders, sit, bend, stoop, stand or walk for extended periods
- Must be available to work overtime, varied shifts and assume on-call duties as required
- Ability to work in temperature extremes ranging from +20o to +105o Fahrenheit
- Ability to lift and/or pull up to 120 lbs
Desired Qualifications
