Job Summary
Supervise a residential team of evening and overnight counselors and house managers, coordinating staff coverage for mobile evening counselors and ensuring 24/7 high-quality support through tenant engagement and intervention. Implement best practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care while overseeing hiring, evaluation, training, and compliance with licensing and legal requirements. Mediate tenant issues, monitor staff compliance, and coordinate work with Case Management, Property Management, and Facilities departments. Lead crisis responses and emergency calls on a rotating schedule, creating policies and plans in coordination with peers and the Associate Director.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of clinical supervisory experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience in the substance abuse/mental health field
- Ability to travel throughout Boston and Brookline
- Prior experience working with homeless individuals and/or supportive housing
- Three years' direct care experience providing services, including assessment and service planning, to adults living in the community with mental illness and/or addictive disorders
Desired Qualifications
- Training in Motivational Interviewing and the Stages of Change model
- Knowledge of and strong commitment to harm reduction philosophy, principles and practices
- Knowledge of landlord/tenant procedures, and/or subsidized housing programs
- Experience working with chronically homeless, medically vulnerable individuals, with tri-morbidities (mental illness, substance abuse, medically compromised)
- Familiarity with and commitment to Housing First as a model of permanent, supported, affordable housing
- Experience with Trauma-Informed Care
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
