Job Summary
Residential Maintenance Technician role focused on maintaining the apartment community's physical integrity and safety. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; inspecting and maintaining tools; managing hazardous materials per EPA/OSHA rules; addressing safety issues (e.g., pool, gates, lighting, ceilings); coordinating with the Property Manager for repairs and requisitions; changing locks, moving appliances, assisting with make-ready repairs, and performing snow removal and landscaping. Requires on-call availability, ability to work evenings and weekends, operating safety protocols, and strong customer service along with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing Act, and related laws is expected. Also includes involvement with vendors, bids, and general maintenance and repair tasks across multiple building systems.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must not pose a direct threat to the safety and health of himself/herself or others
- Able to read and follow instructions, warnings, procedures, etc.
- Able to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- Able to follow company procedures regarding proper key control
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Able to inspect roof tops effectively
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- Must be able to communicate effectively by using a cell phone and computer
- Able to perform routine maintenance and repairs
