Job Summary
Conduct daily support for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities within an AEDD residential environment, enabling them to live, work, and enjoy recreational opportunities in the community. Escort residents on trips for shopping, medical appointments, banking, and social events while providing transportation via personal vehicle. Assist with daily living skills, maintain appropriate behaviors, and support independent activities such as personal hygiene and home organization. Complete all weekly casenotes, medication, and travel documentation in Casenotes by 10:00am Monday, manage resident finances, and communicate daily activities with staff. Participate in program activities, chaperone group trips, and provide input during Annual PCSP plan reviews.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- GED
- minimum of one year of relevant, supervised work experience with a public health, human services or other community service agency
- minimum of two (2) years verifiable experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
- CPR/First Aid
- Arkansas Driver's License
- Auto Liability Insurance
- Ability to compute basic math functions such as adding and subtracting and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs
- Prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act
