Job Summary
Conduct daily support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including chaperoning group trips, escorting residents to community outings, and assisting with independent living skills. Manage household operations by completing grocery shopping, ordering supplies, and maintaining records of expenses. Provide transportation via personal vehicle and coordinate medical appointments, ensuring all documentation is submitted by 10:00 am Monday. Support staff on daily activities, menus, and facility chores while counseling residents on social problem resolution. Maintain a clean environment, including shared rooms and the yard, while adhering to safety protocols and confidentiality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- GED
- minimum of one year of relevant, supervised work experience with a public health, human services or other community service agency
- minimum of two (2) years verifiable experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
- CPR/First Aid
- Arkansas Driver's License
- Auto Liability Insurance
- Ability to compute basic math functions such as adding and subtracting and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs
- Prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act
