Job Summary
HVAC Technician will install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. Duties include installing new HVAC units, ductwork, and thermostats; performing routine maintenance; inspecting and troubleshooting existing units; installing replacement parts; maintaining inventory; and adhering to safety standards. Requires excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, extensive HVAC knowledge, proficiency with power/hand tools and testing devices, ability to read manuals, and strong customer communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required
- Two years of related experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment
- Ability to use power and hand tools
- Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system
- Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems
- Ability to follow instructions
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Excellent communication skills
