Job Summary
Install, repair, and service residential garage doors and openers, including diagnosing torsion spring systems, cables, rollers, and weather seals. Perform complete replacements, safely remove broken springs, and balance doors for smooth operation. Conduct preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and explain repair options to homeowners while completing work orders via mobile devices. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and parts inventory. Provide professional customer service at every job site. Requires 3+ years of experience, ability to lift 75–100 lbs, and valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of residential garage door installation and service experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Extensive knowledge of residential sectional garage doors
- Extensive knowledge of torsion and extension spring systems
- Extensive knowledge of garage door openers and accessories
- Extensive knowledge of door balancing and adjustment procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
- Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to safely lift 75–100 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders and in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, Wayne Dalton, Clopay, Amarr, C.H.I., or other major residential garage door manufacturers
- Electrical troubleshooting experience related to garage door operators
