Job Summary
Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management for residential families at the shelter. Responsibilities include crisis-line support, client interviews to identify service needs, maintaining a caseload with advocacy and supportive counseling, employment assistance (job searches, resume writing, mock interviews), school registration, linking to community resources, accompanying residents to activities (DHS, Schools, Banks), conducting group counseling on domestic violence education and life skills, parenting education for families in residence, and thorough documentation of interactions. The role requires bilingual skills preferred, a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (preferred), and a schedule including evening/overnight shifts with 24/7 shelter operations. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred
- 60 hour IL domestic violence/sexual assault training preferred
- 1-year experience with Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault survivors or 1 year in a residential/shelter environment
- Special interest in working with children
- Knowledge of child development desirable
