Job Summary
Residential Experience Coordinator responsible for the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies’ residential community within the University's Living-Learning framework. Leads community development and engagement, supports student integration and budgeting, coordinates Johnston Community Meetings, mentors Johnston student leaders, facilitates training and events, oversees Johnston Community and University events with policy alignment, and collaborates with Johnston Director and faculty to expand living-learning initiatives. Manages supervision and development of Community Assistants, coordinates housing placements and operations in partnership with Residence Life, and handles emergency response, crisis intervention, and FERPA/compliance duties. Requires Master’s degree and at least two years in residential education, with strong emphasis on leadership, conflict resolution, inclusion, program planning, and student wellbeing to advance retention and community belonging.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education leadership, higher education counseling, or a related field
- Two years experience working in a residential community and/or within a residential living learning community in residence life in higher education
- Experience working with and supporting underrepresented, neurodivergent, first-generation student, and actively involved student changemaker subpopulations
- Understanding of student development theory and its application to the student-centered experience
