Job Summary
Experienced Residential Estimator to own in-house estimating operations for coastal Gulf Coast projects. Role focuses on 60–80 monthly residential estimates, precise material takeoffs from blueprints, and ensuring compliance with windstorm/coastal requirements across TX, FL, AL, and NC. Will improve and scale internal estimating workflows, collaborate with purchasing and project management to align material orders with takeoffs, operate takeoff software, and contribute to cost control and field execution. Requires deep knowledge of Gulf Coast building requirements, strong takeoff accuracy, and ability to manage high bid volume in a fast-paced environment. This is an onsite role based in the Greater Houston area with no relocation or visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of residential construction estimating experience
- Strong experience estimating windstorm-rated and coastal residential projects
- Proficiency with takeoff software strongly preferred
- Experience with other takeoff software may be considered
- Ability to perform highly accurate takeoffs with minimal oversight
- Strong understanding of Gulf Coast building requirements and coastal construction standards
- Experience estimating ground-up single-family residential projects
- Able to manage high bid volume in a fast-paced environment
- Field construction experience transitioning into estimating is highly valued
- Xactimate experience is a plus but not required
- No degree required — practical experience and proven performance matter most
