Job Summary
Assist in restoration and modernization of vacant housing units by performing repairs, cleaning, and general labor duties to reduce vacancy rates. Install and repair drywall, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, windows, and light HVAC systems while maintaining all safety standards and PPE requirements. Write detailed work completion notes, maintain assigned tools and vehicle, and adhere to HUD regulations and Housing Authority policies. Complete assignments efficiently while participating in ongoing training. Priority will be given to currently Paducah County residents.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years of residential or commercial maintenance/construction experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to read basic building plans
- Safe use of tools and equipment
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Exposure to construction-related environmental conditions
- Exposure to moderate construction-related risks
- Mechanical, electrical, chemical, and environmental hazards
- Use of required safety gear and protective equipment
- Integrity and ethical conduct
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Clear oral and written communication
- Problem-solving ability
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Residential and building maintenance knowledge
- Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC skills

- Maintenance certifications (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical)
- HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical training
- UPCS training (or willingness to obtain)
