Job Summary
Residential Electrical Designer role focused on electrical design and engineering for residential structures, including load calculations, single line diagrams, and panel schedules, plus power and lighting plans, site lighting/power plans, photometric studies, and lighting fixture designs in AutoCAD. Responsibilities include producing construction documents in AutoCAD, leveraging Excel for load calculations, collaborating with design staff and drafters, and ensuring code compliance per NEC/ICC/UBC across mid-rise multifamily and mixed-use residential projects. Required skills include AutoCAD, MS Excel, Visual Lighting, AGI 32, blueprint reading, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and strong teamwork; the role involves meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments. Location is Phoenix, AZ, with in-person work schedule (Mon–Fri, plus potential additional hours).
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
- Preferred 3+ years’ experience in Electrical Design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction.
- Electrical Design experience with producing Electrical Load Calculation, Single Line Diagram, and Panel Schedules
- Electrical Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential and enclosed parking garages
- Monday – Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.

- Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code); ICC International Codes; Uniform Building Codes
- Ability to read blueprints; detail-oriented; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; team player
- Self-directed with initiative and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to work within deadlines in dynamic environments
- Experience with site lighting, site power plans, photometric studies, and lighting fixture design
