Job Summary
Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, and mobility while promoting autonomy and independence. Support household tasks such as laundry, dishes, and cleaning to maintain a safe environment, and facilitate community participation through transportation to appointments, social activities, and employment programs. Administer medications per protocols, monitor health and behavior changes, and document progress updates and incident reports in compliance with regulations. Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and advocate for individual rights within a person-centered approach.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must be able to pass criminal background check (per state requirements, Oregon OARs)
- Valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable vehicle (if transportation duties apply)
- Smartphone access (for documentation, communication, timekeeping)
- Able to be certified in CPR & First Aid (training provided if needed)
- Willingness to complete annually required training (24 hours minimum)
- Comfort around animals (if applicable)
- Must be available to work weekends (Friday–Monday)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months experience working with the I/DD community or 1 year caregiving/related experience

- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation
