Job Summary
Conduct safe, efficient waste removal by operating side loader or recycling trucks on curbside and backdoor routes to transport solid waste and recyclables to post-collection facilities. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete required reports, and maintain vehicle cleanliness while identifying and handling prohibited or hazardous waste per company procedures. Support route optimization and assist with overtime as needed. This role requires a valid Class 3 driver's license, one year of commercial driving experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in outdoor conditions across all weather.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 driver's license
- Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or completion of a recognized CDL training program
- Must meet physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering in tight spaces
- Ability to safely operate collection equipment and recognize disposal issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform manual labor and operate in varying environments
- Ability to maintain focus and awareness while driving in high-traffic areas
- Ability to work effectively in a noisy, fast-paced setting
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Frequent exposure to noise, odors, and moving vehicles
- Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions with proper protective equipment provided
