Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty truck on container delivery, recycling, and residential routes while servicing assigned customers and complying with local, state, and federal transportation regulations. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, reporting vehicle deficiencies to Route Supervisors or Maintenance. Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body, properly position containers, and ensure customer locations are left free of debris. Tag unsatisfactory waste barrels, follow Material Recovery Facility protocols, and wear required personal protective equipment. Notify supervisors immediately of any incidents, accidents, or property damages, and communicate customer requests to Dispatch. Complete all route assignments and end-of-route documentation, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle throughout the day.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Class A or B Driver's License
- 1 year of experience operating a commercial vehicle
- Able to meet all DOT requirements
- Able to provide exceptional customer service always
- Time management skills
- Able to follow through multiple challenges as they arise
- Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Desired Qualifications
- Age 21 and over
- Bilingual English / Spanish
- 3+ years of experience operating a commercial vehicle
- Work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industry
- Clean Driving Record
