Job Summary
Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence skills and improving quality of life through direct support in residential settings. Administer medication per the Medication Administration Plan, implement treatment plans, and provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living including household chores, cooking, and meal planning. Facilitate community integration by planning recreational activities, organizing outings, and providing transportation to appointments and social events. Monitor residents' physical and emotional status, maintain records in electronic health records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and staff-to-consumer ratios. Perform last-minute coverage as required and function as a human rights advocate while maintaining required certifications.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience and/or training in a related function
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Adequate insurance (for personal vehicle)
- Safe driving record
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives

- Ability to adjust focus
- CPR certification within two weeks of hire
- First Aid certification within two weeks of hire
- MAC certification following CT guidelines
- Safety Care certification within two weeks of hire
